افتراضي AL-MUSALLA (praying place) or AL-Ghamama Mosque

[ CENTER]- Al-MUSALLA (PRAYING PLACE) AL-GHAMAMA MOSQUE

Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) used to perform Eid prayers in the open air at AI-Manakha and the surrounding areas. AI-Waqidi said, "The first Eid prayer Prophet Muhammad had performed was on the second Hijra year (624) and that I personally carried his stick on that day."

Abu Hurairah, a companion of the Prophet and one of the most reliable hadith
narrators, said "Whenever the Prophet passed by AI-Musalla, he would face the Qibla
and start supplications."

The AI-Musalla Mosque which is now known as AI-Ghamamah (cloud) Mosque, is
located to the east of the present residential quarters known as AI-Aridiya.

Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) used to perform Eid prayers at different
locations in AI-Manakha area. He later built AI-Musalla Mosque and since then
performed Eid prayers there.

AI-Samhoudi said, "It was apparent that the three mosques - AI-Musalla, Ali ibn
Abu Taleb and Abu Bakr AI-Siddiq - were built in 91-93 H (711-713 A.D.) When Omar Ibn Abdul Aziz was governor of Madina

The man in charge of the Prophet's Haram during the reign of the Egyptian ruler
AI-Nasser Hassan ibn Glawoun whose name was Fzeddin renovated the AI-Musalla
Mosque. This was after 748 H (1350 A.D.).

Madina Governor Barbak, when Ashraf Anyal was ruler of Egypt in 861 H (1406
A.D.), also renovated the mosque.

The present construction of AI-Musalla Mosque was made by the Ottoman Sultan
Abdul Majeed during the 14th Hijra century.
