افتراضي The Four Mosques South of AL-Fath Mosque

THE FOUR MOSQUES SOUTH OF AL-FATH MOSQUE

There are four mosques built to the south of AI-Fath Mosque all known as AI-Fath. They are Salman AI-Farisi Mosque, Ali ibn Abu Taleb Mosque and Abu Bakr AI-Siddiq Mosque. I did not find any name for the fourth mosque nor did I find any evidence why the first three mosques have their present names. Probably they were given these names by the guides who direct visitors when they
come to visit historic mosques in Madina.

It remains a historic fact that the Arab tribes at the time of Ghazwat AI-Khandaq
(Battle of the Trench) set up camp in this very area which had the four mosques.
During that battle, the Prophet prayed at all the four mosques.

1 - Salman AI-Farisi Mosque.
It is the one immediately to the south of AI-Fath Mosque.

2 - Ali ibn Abu Taleb Mosque.
It is the one after Salman AI-Farisi Mosque to the south.

3 - Abu Bakr AI-Siddiq Mosque.
It is the one after Ali ibn Abu Taleb Mosque with slight tilting towards the east.

4 - The fourth mosque (without a name)
It is to the south-east of Abu Bakr AI-Siddiq Mosque.

These four mosques and AI-Fath Mosque are all situated at the western side of
Salaa mountain overlooking Bathan valley.

In 577H (1183 A.D.), Egypt's ruler AI-Hussein ibn AI-Haija renewed Salman AI-Farisi and Ali ibn Abu Taleb mosques.

Ali ibn Abu Taleb Mosque tumbled down and was rebuilt by the Governor of Madina
Zeinuddin Dighaim ibn Hashmn AI-Mansouri in the year 876H (1474 A.D.).

Some of the Madina residents rebuilt Abu Bakr AI-Siddiq Mosque in 902H (1499
A.D.).
Judging by the present look of the mosques, one would say they were maintained
or renewed during the Ottoman-Turkish rule.
